No Brown Line Trains Between Western and Kimball This Weekend

LINCOLN SQUARE — Brown Line rail service will be replaced with shuttle buses between the Western and Kimball stations this weekend and streets will be closed intermittently as crews make track improvements.

Trains will continue to operate between the Western stop and the Loop, but the Rockwell, Francisco, Kedzie and Kimball stations will be closed to riders. Customers will still have access to Ventra machines.

The station closures will be in effect from 4 a.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday.

Shuttle buses will stop at the Western and Kimball stations, and will also pick up riders on Lawrence Avenue at Rockwell, Sacramento and Kedzie.

Motorists should be aware of the accompanying street closures:

• Rockwell between Leland and Eastwood, 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

• Manor at Francisco between Leland and Eastwood, 3 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Sunday.

• Sacramento between Leland and Eastwood, 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

• Kedzie between Leland and Eastwood, 3 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday.
