NORTH PARK — The war over charter schools, raging not only in Chicago but across the nation, is the subject of a new documentary set to screen Monday at Northeastern Illinois University.

"Education, Inc.," from filmmaker Brian Malone, turns its lens on both proponents and opponents of the movement to privatize public schools in the U.S.

The screening at NEIU, set for 4:15 p.m., will be followed by a panel discussion led by retired education professor and activist Bill Ayers.

Prudence Browne, a participant in the recent Dyett High School hunger strike, is among those scheduled to take part in the roundtable.

The free event is open to the public and will be held in Alumni Hall, 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave.
