DOWNTOWN — Ogden International School could lose up to eight positions associated with special education this school year after reporting fewer students than projected, according to budget documents Chicago Public Schools released Friday

The school, which serves grades K-12 across two campuses, could lose five special ed teachers and three special ed aides, according to the spreadsheet, which listed the changes as "adjustments in special ed" teaches or aides.

No one from CPS would explain the documents Monday. Ogden officials also would not comment.

Ogden's enrollment on the 10th day of school, Sept. 21, was 77 fewer students than CPS' projection of 1,642. CPS calculates individual school budgets based on enrollment projections before each school year, but for the first time this fall, is adjusting budgets further based on actual enrollment during the 10th day of school.

Ogden previously  saw a $400,000 cut — due to the enrollment shortfall.

It's unknown how many special ed teachers and aides Ogden previously employed.
