HYDE PARK — Openlands needs help planting trees on Saturday in Hyde Park.

The natural and open spaces group will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at the corner of 54th Street and South Shore Drive, where several large trees have recently fallen or been cut down.

Experts will explain how to plant a tree and then will lead plantings where ash trees have been destroyed by the emerald ash borer beetle.

The event will happen rain or shine and more details can be found on the Openlands website.
