RAVENSWOOD — Ravenswood puts its most creative foot forward during the 14th annual Ravenswood ArtWalk Tour of Arts and Industry Saturday and Sunday.

Before you go, we've got the scoop on the who, what, where and when.

Who: More than 300 local artists and artisans — from painters to jewelry makers — are participating in the two-day ArtWalk (view profiles here). Some will open up their studios, others will display their work collectively at host sites like Beyond Design.

What: Don't be fooled by the event's name — the Ravenswood ArtWalk Tour of Arts and Industry is very much a festival. Yes, there's lots of art to look at (and buy) but there's also food, beer and music. An outdoor market features two music stages, a beer garden, kids activities and a food truck roundup. The market is centered at Ravenswood and Berteau, admission is $5 (the rest of the tour is free).

Where: As the name suggests, the Ravenswood ArtWalk largely takes place along Ravenswood Avenue. The majority of sites are situated between Lawrence and Montrose avenues, but a handful of venues are located off this beaten path. Click here for a map to plan your route.

When: The ArtWalk kicks off 6-9 p.m. Friday with a celebration at the Chicago Mosaic School (details here). The main event runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
