Drop Off Hazardous Household Waste and Electronics at The Castle on Oct. 3

BEVERLY — The Beverly Unitarian Church will host a hazardous household waste collection from 8:30-11 a.m. Oct. 3.

The church commonly known as The Castle at 10244 S. Longwood Drive in Beverly will also collect and safely dispose of household electronic devices as part of the effort.

The event is organized by the church's Green Sanctuary Group, and the collection will occur in the parking lot on the northeast corner of Seeley Avenue and 103rd Street.

Most common household waste products and electronic devices will be accepted. Some items that will not be picked up include Freon, incandescent bulbs, appliances, alkaline batteries, bio-hazardous products, needles, latex, acrylic or water-based paints, caulk or cleaning products and other water-soluble products.

Aside from the waste materials, textbooks and eyeglasses also will be accepted for reuse. Donations are requested to help defray the cost of the collection. For information, contact Eileen Klees at 773-968-3396.
