The man was walking with a friend in the 100 block of North Central Avenue around 3:15 a.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, Pacheco said. His friend took him to Loretto Hospital before he was transferred to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Pacheco said.

• A 64-year-old woman was shot in her leg in West Garfield Park early Saturday, Pacheco said. The woman was inside her home in the 3800 block of West Monroe Street at 2:55 a.m. when a bullet pierced a window and struck her leg, Pacheco said. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition, Pacheco said.
