Do Your Upstairs Neighbors Drive You Nuts? Video Spoof Says It's on Purpose

By Patty Wetli | September 10, 2015 8:31am

LINCOLN SQUARE — What are they doing up there?

It's the question that's plagued downstairs neighbors since the invention of the apartment.

Courtesy of a genius video spoof, "Everyone's Upstairs Neighbors," the folks at Above Average network ("the Internet's last hope for comedy") have finally provided an answer: The people who live above you really are trying to drive you crazy.

"People think of neighborly noise as a nuisance, but we think of it as an art form," says the Woman Upstairs.

Highlights from the two-minute clip show "David and Julia," the upstairs duo, rolling bowling balls and metal barrels across the floor, faking loud sex and taking shifts "to create the illusion that nobody here sleeps."

"We want the sounds to be different, but completely unrecognizable," says "David."

Cut to exasperated Downstairs Neighbor: "I just want them to stop, and I want to know what the hell they're doing."

Sure it's satire, but "Everyone's Upstairs Neighbors" will hit close to home for anyone whose ceiling is someone else's floor.
