By Alex Nitkin | September 8, 2015 7:20pm

HYDE PARK — Police alerted Hyde Park residents Tuesday of a string of armed robberies that hit the neighborhood in late August and early September.

The robberies were reported in the 5200 block of South University Avenue, the 5400 block of South Ingleside Avenue and the 1100 block of East 54th Place, according to police. They all occurred between Aug. 17 and Sept. 2.

Police did not specify whether they believe the robberies were committed by the same person or group of people, but they described the robbers as black men in their 20s, with dark complexions, standing between 5 feet, 8 inches and 6 feet tall. At least one robber was described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, police said.

Anyone with information on the robberies is encouraged to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
