ALBANY PARK — What better flick for a bike-in (think drive-in on two wheels) than "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure," the tale of one man-child's cross-country quest to retrieve a stolen Schwinn?
The movie, which marked the feature film directorial debut of Tim Burton, will screen for free at dusk, Tuesday night in Ronan Park, 3000 W. Argyle St. Bring a blanket or chairs and some munchies.
People are being encouraged to ride their bikes to the park, as part of the summer long Go Albany Park program.
If you happen to be in possession of a tricked-out 1953 Schwinn DX with distinctive tiger head sound system, now would be the time to take it for a spin.
At least 10 of the custom-made bikes were used during the filming of 1985's "Big Adventure," and one of them sold to an anonymous buyer on eBay in 2014 for $36,000.
What a steal. The bike's worth, according to Pee-Wee, a "hundred million, trillion, billion dollars."
