SOUTH LOOP — A historic stretch of the South Loop will see its first ever beer and wine festival this Labor Day weekend, according to a news release published last week by the event's organizers.

The Motor Row Craft Beer & Wine Fest, planned for the 1600-1800 blocks of South Wabash Avenue, will feature food and live music along with ticketed beer and wine tastings. In keeping with the area's history of car showrooms and repair shops going back more than 100 years, the festival will also include "a display of nearly 20 antique cars," according to the release.

A $35 tasting pass will buy visitors 15 samples of beer and wine at the event. Those who don't buy passes will be asked to give a $5 donation to the Prairie District Neighborhood Alliance.

The Motor Row Craft Beer & Wine Fest will run from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sept. 5-6. The beer and wine tastings will run between 2-6 p.m. both days.
