MOUNT GREENWOOD — The Stanley Cup will be at Marist High School in Mount Greenwood from 10-11:45 a.m. on Thursday.

It costs $10 per photo to have your picture taken with the Cup in the main gym 4200 W. 115th St. on the far Southwest Side.

All proceeds will support the Catholic high school's hockey team.

Each picture will be printed in 4-by-6 photo paper. Additional prints will also be available.

The cup visits Marist courtesy of Mike Gapski and his his wife, Lynne. Mike Gapski is a Marist parent and the head athletic trainer for the Chicago Blackhawks. He has opted to spend a portion of his day with the Cup at the school.

Coincidentally, Gapski is a 1976 graduate of St. Rita in Ashburn. He was inducted into the St. Rita High School Hall of Fame in April.

Gapski earned his degree in physical education from the University of Illinois at Chicago where he served as both assistant athletic trainer from 1982-1985 and head athletic trainer from 1985-1987.

Gapski became the head athletic trainer in 1987 for the Hawks, working more than 2,000 NHL games. In his time with the team, he has been a part of Stanley Cup winning teams in 2010, 2013 and now 2015.

The Marist hockey team starts its season Sept. 27 on its new home rink — the Morgan Park Sports Center at 11505 S. Western Ave., according to the school's website.
