CHICAGO — It's raining, but maybe it'll clear up? If so, you've got options.
1. "Mamma Mia!": Watch Meryl Streep prove she can pull anything off — including singing the best of ABBA while romancing Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth — under the stars as part of the Chicago Park District’s Movies in the Parks series. Starts at 8 p.m. at Wilson Park, 4630 N. Milwaukee Ave. Free.
2. Ride Around The ‘Hood: Use your cycling skills to meet up with fellow neighbors and take a tour of local murals around Edgewater with this free event hosted by Go Edgewater. From CTA underpasses to the multitude of creative art expressions hidden in everyday life, check out some of the community’s coolest outdoor pieces. CTA Thorndale Red Line Station, 1118 W. Thorndale Ave., Meet at 6:15 p.m., ride 6:30-7:30 p.m., Free.
3. Indulge in S’Mores, Hide Away in a Non-Park: Today is National S’mores Day, celebrating the campfire treat made with toasted marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers. If you are not up for making your own S’mores, pop by Mr. Kite’s Chocolate, open until 8 p.m. Monday. Then, take the treat about a block west to the back of Roberto Clemente High School, where you can sit on the benches and watch skateboarders perform tricks on the concrete. Mr. Kite's, 2120 W. Division St., Clemente High School yard, just west of Western on Division Street.
4. You Are The Biking Queen, Young And Sweet: Before the “Mamma Mia” showing at Wilson Park (see #1 for details), enjoy a breezy evening bike ride with Go Albany Park. Their weekly bike rides this month feature fun themes like Superheroes and Roaring ‘20s rides, and this week is celebrating the wonders of ABBA. Roosevelt High School Parking Lot, 3436 W. Wilson Ave., Meet at 6:15 p.m., ride 6:30-7:30 p.m. Free.
5. Go For A Run: Sure, it's muggy. But with a 60-70 percent chance of rain all night, there's a decent chance you'll be cooled off during a sprint around the 'hood. Not into running solo? Stop by a Fleet Feet location in the South Loop, Lincoln Square, Lakeview or Old Town and join their Monday evening "fun run," which kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Free.
