UPTOWN — As construction continues on the Argyle Streetscape project, it will be easier to access Argyle Station and parking will be harder.

Construction on the North Side of the street from the CTA stop to Winthrop will be put on hold for now to allow access to the station, Ald. Harry Osterman (48th) said in an email Friday.

Excavation and backfill of curbs and sidewalks from Winthrop Avenue to Kenmore Avenue will continue, pending approval. Cement work from Broadway to the CTA station is scheduled to begin next week, Osterman said.

For now, ramps will be used to access businesses on the street and parking will be limited on the North Side of the street from Kenmore Avenue to Sheridan Road, Osterman said.

The work will take place on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. An open meeting is held every Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the construction site, 4956 N. Sheridan Rd.
