5 Things To Do Outside Today: Learn to Juggle, Drink Beers Near The Beach

CHICAGO — The weather this month has been swoon-worthy. We'll continue our sun fest after work.

1. Player One Ready: Catch the animated flick "Big Hero 6" under the stars as part of the Chicago Park District’s Movies in the Parks series. 8 p.m. Thursday at Roberts Square Park, 5200 W. Argyle St., and at 8:15 p.m. at Norwood Park, 5801 N. Natoma Ave., Free.

2. Become A Mad Scientist: Part of the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce’s “Family Nights” schedule, members from the Mad Science crew will be on hand for an unforgettable fire and ice show to show the true power behind science. As always, the first 75 guests get free frozen custard from Edgewater’s own Lickity Split, so don’t be late! Broadway Armory Parking Lot, 5917 North Broadway, 6:30 p.m., Free.

3. Learn Circus Art: CircEsteem, an Alternatives Inc. program, will be teaching residents how to spin plates, juggle and walk a tightwire. The event from 5-7 p.m. Buttercup Park, 4901 N. Sheridan Rd. Free.

4.  Get a Drink on Ald. Joe Moreno (1st): Tonight’s “1st Thursday” networking social with Moreno and his staffers will take place at Quencher’s, which has a great outdoor patio that feels serene and setback from the traffic mess just steps away at Western. And oh yeah, the drinks are on Moreno too, at least your first two, per the alderman’s newsletter. From 6 to 9 p.m., 2401 N. Western Ave.

5. Drink Beer By The Lake: Celebrate that Chicago has happy hour again with a bucket of beer for $22 today at Castaways at North Avenue Beach. 1603 N. Lake Shore Dr. Open until 11 p.m.
