NORTH CENTER — Help send the 47th Ward's students back to school with a fresh supply of pencils, paper, crayons, binders and glue.

The 47th Ward office, in partnership with Common Pantry and the Lincoln Square Friendship Center, is holding a school supply drive for the community's needy families.

Among the requested items: backpacks, spiral notebooks, scissors, tape, calculators, highlighters and pocket dictionaries.

Drop off donations at the ward office, 4243 N. Lincoln Ave., through Aug. 20. The office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
