DOWNTOWN — The next season of "Empire" may include some steps — and some lions — that are very familiar to Chicagoans.
Production crews were shooting a scene for the hit Fox drama Monday morning on the steps of the Art Institute, 111 S. Michigan Ave. Some onlookers quickly took to social media to share their photos.

Shot mainly in Chicago and starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, "Empire" was a surprise hit this year with television audiences and one of the most-viewed TV series released in years. The second season, adding rapper Chris "Ludacris" Bridges to the cast, will debut Sept. 23.
