ALBANY PARK — Chicago Police went looking for drunk drivers in Albany Park and busted motorists for a slew of other violations while they were at it.
The DUI strike force patrol, held July 18-19, resulted in a total of 67 citations issued and seven cars towed.
Two of the tickets were for driving under the influence. Meanwhile, nine drivers were socked for seatbelt violations, nine for driver's license violations, 13 for traffic violations and 16 for insurance violations.
The most common citation was for an unsafe vehicle — 18 of these tickets were written.
During a strike force patrol, officers flood a designated area and are on the lookout for any sign of impaired driving.
