ALBANY PARK — In June, the Chicago River came within inches of busting its banks. Again.

Was the city ready?

With a planned diversion tunnel still years away, residents of Albany Park and North Park want to know how the city plans to handle another "100 year" flood.

They'll get their questions answered Tuesday at a public meeting hosted by Ald. Margaret Laurino (39th) and attended by representatives from the Office of Emergency Management and Communications.

The forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Eugene Field Park, 5100 N. Ridgeway Ave., where several acres were recently converted to wetlands in order to help alleviate flooding.
