CHICAGO — Keep the politicians away from Downtown — there's a test going on Wednesday to see how honest Chicagoans are.
The test requires Chicagoans use an "honor system" to pay for tea at an unmanned kiosk Downtown. People are able to pay for the tea, or steal it. The results will be recorded and Chicago will then be ranked for its honesty (or dishonesty) compared to other cities.
The test will run until 4 p.m. Wednesday. The location of the test has not been disclosed to keep people from skewing results.
Chicago was ranked No. 9 out of more than 60 tested cities with 92 percent honesty last year, according to the group. The most honest city was Honolulu, which was 100 percent honest.
The city fared a little worse than the state, which was ranked No. 30 with 94 percent honesty. Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii and Tennessee took home first place with 98 percent honesty each.
The results of Wednesday's test will be revealed in August. Money collected during the social experiment will be donated, according to the National Honesty Index website.
