This Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Flipbook Is Mesmerizing

CHICAGO — Now you can watch key moments of the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup championship run on a flipbook.

North Center's Ben Zurawski — aka "The Flippist" — on Wednesday released a video showing his cartoon flipbook of goals and saves from the Hawks' 2015 title-winning season.

The 27-second video includes flipbook images of goals from Duncan Keith and Patrick Kane, a save from Corey Crawford, and the passing of the Stanley Cup from captain Jonathan Toews to Kimmo Timonen.

Zurawski on Wednesday morning put the flipbook up for sale on eBay, with the starting price $50.

Zurawski, a Columbia College Chicago graduate, said the flipbook is about 100 pages, a full block of blank index cards. He's been working on the flipbook since the Hawks won the Stanley Cup on June 15 and finally finished it Tuesday night.

Justin Breen says Zurawski started right after the Blackhawks won:

"I have to admit I'm not a huge sports fan, but in the case of the Chicago Blackhawks book, I just get caught up in the city's shared excitement," Zurawski said Wednesday.

Zurawski said he's done some commercial work for the NFL, Ford Mustang and Tiger Woods Foundation, but also many smaller custom orders for marriage proposals, anniversaries and weddings.

"Any special occasion where a cartoon can tell an animated story," he said.

The Flippist is on Facebook and Twitter. Zurawski sells his animated cartoon flipbooks here.
