CHICAGO — Jen Lada's dog has been found.

The former Comcast SportsNet Chicago anchor posted on Twitter and Facebook that her lost 11-year-old Jack Russell terrier mix, Wrigley, had been found safe Tuesday.

"Extremely happy," Lada told DNAinfo Tuesday. "We've been spending a lot of brain power in trying to take care of this this week. It was emotionally exhausting, to say nothing of physically just walking around. It was pretty draining. It's hard to focus on anything else."

Lada on Tuesday afternoon was on her way to pick up Wrigley, who escaped her house on Monday, June 29, while movers were taking out her belongings. She said the dog has been in the possession of the same man since last week. The man saw one of the hundreds of fliers Lada had posted around North Center and called her Tuesday.

Lada was supposed to be in Bristol, Conn., on Monday, preparing for a dream job at ESPN.

But she had spent Monday canvassing North Center with 100 fliers for Wrigley, who had been missing since Monday, June 29.

On Monday, DNAinfo wrote a story about Lada trying to find the dog. She said that helped "get the word out."

"A lot of people were talking about it. Just that it was being talked about made a big difference, too," Lada said.

In June, Lada learned she had been hired to join ESPN as a contributor on Colin Cowherd’s radio show, which is televised. Lada, who starts July 13, also will make appearances on SportsCenter, she said.

With no place to live, Lada had been staying at her parents' home in suburban McHenry as she's commuted back to Chicago to look for Wrigley. On Thursday, she also blanketed her former neighborhood with 100 fliers.

Lada also has posted updates — and received tips — on her Twitter account. She said she's received tips from three separate people saying Wrigley was seen with a man walking him.

"Anyone who has a dog — they're part of your family. I certainly don't want to move forward and leave him behind," Lada said Monday.
