CHICAGO — Two teens are in custody after a 17-year-old was shot in Woodlawn Thursday, police said.

Around 12:10 p.m., the victim was in a group standing on the sidewalk in the 6100 block of South Langley Avenue when a car pulled up and someone inside began to argue with one of the 17-year-old's friends, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Someone inside the car then opened fire, striking the victim. He was not believed to be the intended target, Estrada said.

The teen was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.

Two juveniles are in custody for the shooting and charges are pending.
