CHICAGO — The rain has subsided for a moment! Get outside! Here are some things you can do after work today.

1. Cure That Case of the Mondays with Rooftop Happy Hour: Cerise, the 26th-floor lounge at the new Virgin Hotel, may be the funkiest rooftop in the city. In a good way. Take in a three-sided view of the skyline and drink summer cocktails at the shag-clad bar owned by Sir Richard Branson. Open 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Mondays. “Chic Casual” dress code. Located atop the Virgin Hotel at 203 N. Wabash Ave.

2.  Celebrate Monday’s End on Big Star’s Patio, Then Walk to Jeni’s:  Try Big Star’s much-hyped new Beef Picadillo Taco ($4) then walk a block south to enjoy one of the several new floats on Jeni’s Ice Cream's new menu, such as the Ginger Tart float, $6.50. Big Star, 1531 N. Damen Ave., open 11:30 a.m. to 2  a.m.; Jeni’s, 1505 N. Milwaukee Ave., open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

3. Treat Furry Friends to Their Own Farmers Market: Don’t be a farmer’s market hog, take your furry companion over to Broadway Armory in Edgewater tonight and let them peruse local wares from Bark Bark Club themselves. Part of the 48th Ward’s Summer Nights program, this sweet puppy set up should get some tails wagging. Broadway Armory Park, 5917 N. Broadway, located along the alley and walkway adjacent to the Broadway Armory Parking Lot. Between 5-7 p.m. Free.

4. Enjoy Cheap Burgers, Cold Brews On Big Chicks’ Patio: Too busy celebrating marriage equality this weekend to get groceries? Uptown gay bar Big Chicks has got you covered for dinner tonight. Monday night's special is $1 burgers or veggie dogs, with a choice of salad and fries, which you can enjoy with a cold brew on their outdoor patio. Big Chicks, 5024 N. Sheridan Rd. Special is dine-in only with purchase of a drink.

5. Watch the Taping of the Very First “(Untitled) Hour with Hot Doug and The Hitmaker: After leaving his popular encased meats business because it was simply "time to do something else,” Hot Doug has taken on a new project for the people of Chicago, and the world. But you can catch the taping of the show’s first episode — “WGN-style” — live from outside the Roscoe Village studio. Check out Hot Doug and The Hitmaker Monday from 4-5 p.m. at 2149 W. Roscoe St. before the episode airs each Tuesday at RadioMisfits.com
