JEFFERSON PARK — Students either entering high school or starting college who need some extra cash can apply for four scholarships from the Jefferson Park Chamber of Commerce.
Two $500 scholarships are set aside for a student entering high school and two $1,000 scholarships are earmarked for students entering college, organizers said.
Applicants must either live or attend school in the 60630 zip code area, organizers said.
In addition to filling out the application and submitting two letters of recommendation — one from a school official and another from an adult who is not a relative, applicants must write a 250-word essay about their favorite story or experience about life in Jefferson Park.
