Two Killed, Six Wounded in Shootings Since Wednesday Morning

CHICAGO — Two people including a 15-year-old boy were fatally shot and six others were wounded in shootings since Wednesday morning.

Around 11:45 p.m., a 19-year-old man was fatally shot in Uptown.

The most violent incident, on the Near West Side, left three people hospitalized following a shooting. Around 9:40 p.m., three men were standing outside in the 2700 block of West Lexington Street when three men emerged from the alley opening fire, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

A 30-year-old man was shot in his arm and taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition. A 45-year-old man was shot in his back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in fair condition. An 18-year-old man was shot in his leg and taken to Mount Sinai in fair condition, Sedevic said.

Most recently, a 16-year-old boy was shot in his lower back when shots were fired from a passing car in the 5800 block of South Green Street in Englewood around 2 a.m., Sedevic said.

He was taken to Stroger in seriosu condition, Sedevic said.

Around 5:10 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in his eye during an argument in the 600 block of East 67th Street in Grand Crossing. He was taken to Christ Hospital in good condition, Sedevic said.

Around 4 p.m., a 36-year-old man was shot in Humboldt Park.
