Submarine Tours With U.S. Vets New to Museum of Science and Industry

HYDE PARK — Museum of Science and Industry guests can get into the U-505 submarine early for a special behind-the-scenes tour by U.S. veterans through the end of the year.

On nine weekend days through December, just the captured German U-boat will open early at 8 a.m. for coffee and tea and then a two-hour tour through the vessel by U.S. veterans who worked on submarines and who know it best.

Tickets are $18 for adults, $11 for children ages 3-11 and $17 for seniors. Tickets that include admission to the museum, 5700 S. Lake Park Ave., are $40.

Tour dates include July 25, Aug. 9, Aug. 22, Sept. 12, Sept. 20, Oct. 17, Nov. 15, Dec. 6 and Dec. 19.
