NORTH CENTER — Looking for the best ribs in Chicago?
According to the judges at Ribfest 2015, you can find them at Rub's Backcountry Smokehouse, 6954 N. Western Ave. The West Ridge BBQ spot took home the top prize over the weekend at North Center's annual barbecue blowout.
Uncle Bub's BBQ of Westmont came in second and BBQ King Smokehouse of Woodstock placed third.
BBQ King Smokehouse in suburban Wooddstock took third place for ribs.
The "People's Choice" award went to Q BBQ Lakeview, edging out perennial fan favorite Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro for the title. Rub's Backcountry took third.
For the third year in a row, Miki Sudo and Michelle Lesco finished one-two in the RibMania professional eating competition — with a twist.
After losing to Sudo in 2013 and 2014, Lesco finally bested her rival, downing 3.2 pounds of ribs in eight minutes to take home the $2,000 first-place check.
