CHICAGO — Rafael Corona, 29, has been charged with four felonies and one misdemeanor after pointing a gun at a Chicago Police officer early Sunday in Logan Square, police said.

Around 12 a.m., officers responded to a gang-related disturbance in the 1700 block of North Talman Avenue, police said.

The incident was just a block away from the Bloomingdale Trail/606 which had its opening festival, drawing massive crowds Saturday.

Corona, of the 1700 block of North Rockwell Street, pointed a weapon at police officers, and one officer, "in fear for his safety," fired his gun, police said in a statement.

Corona was charged with one felony count of armed habitual criminal, one felony count of unlawful possession of firearm by street gang member, one felony count of unlawful use of weapon by a felon, one felony count of aggravated assault of police and one misdemeanor count of drinking alcohol in public.

No one was shot, and no injuries were reported, according to police.

Corona is scheduled to appear in Central Bond Court Monday.
