UPTOWN — A public meeting will be held next week to discuss the upcoming Mumford & Sons concert near Montrose Beach, Ald. James Cappleman announced in an email Friday afternoon.

It'll be held Tuesday, June 9 at the Clarendon Park Field House, 4501 N. Clarendon Ave., at 7 p.m.

Indie rock band Mumford & Sons is scheduled to perform June 17 at Cricket Hill near Montrose Beach.

Representatives from JAM Productions, which is putting on the lakefront show, as well as the city's office of emergency management and communication department will be there answering questions.

"They will share their plans to make sure the impact on residents is minimized and that the event goes as smoothly as possible," Cappleman said in an email to constituents.

Last year, Wavefront Music Festival was canceled after fierce opposition from local aldermen and residents, who thought the fest was too loud, among other issues.
