CHICAGO — A Cicero man who was shot in West Garfield Park Monday died a day later, officials said.

Graig Stewart, of 1200 block of South Central Avenue in Cicero, was shot in his head in the 100 block of North Karlov Avenue Monday, police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

Around 2 p.m., witnesses heard several shots and when they looked outside they saw a man lying on the ground, police said.

Stewart, 28, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead Tuesday at 2:29 p.m., officials said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.
