CHICAGO — A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in Burnside Thursday night, police said.

Around 9:45 p.m., officers received calls of shots fired in the 1300 block of East 94th Street, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Demetrius M. Peebles, 17, of the 9100 block of South Harper Avenue, was was found lying on the ground with a gunshot wound in his head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

No one is in custody, and no further information was available Friday.
