CHATHAM — Residents can help replant flowers in their community as part of a citywide initiative.

The Chatham community is invited and encouraged to participate in Neighbor Works Day on Saturday at 9 a.m. Last year, residents planted flowers at three intersections. Chatham will just be one of several neighborhoods working together to improve their community.

Volunteers will plant flowers at 81st and Ingleside, 82nd and Ingleside, 81st and Maryland, 83rd and Maryland, and 82nd and Ellis. They will also help clean the area. After planting and cleaning, volunteers are invited to attend a community barbeque at 81st and Maryland. All ages are welcome.

The Community Investment Corporation is the lead organization for the Chatham Micro Market Recovery Program. This service day project is made possible thanks to a partnership with the City of Chicago and Neighborhood Housing Services.
