CHICAGO — Police are cautioning residents after a series of robberies targeting women in Austin.

In the three incidents, a man approaches a lone woman, pushes her to the ground and then robs her, police said in a statement.

The most recent incident occurred at 2 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of North Austin Boulevard. The other incidents occurred at 11 a.m. May 8 in the 400 block of North Parkside Avenue, and at 1:20 a.m. May 5 in the 100 block of North Parkside Avenue, police said.

The robber was described as a black man between 5-foot-5 and 5-10, and between 150 and 220 pounds. He has black hair, and in one incident was armed with a handgun, police said.
