NEAR WEST SIDE — Did your neighborhood get a starring role in the second season finale of "Chicago P.D.?"

"Chicago P.D.," a spinoff of "Chicago Fire," follows officers played by Sophia Bush, Jason Beghe and Jon Seda as they investigate organized crime and murders. The season finale aired at 9 p.m. Wednesday on NBC, but the series has been picked up for a third season.

The series has filmed in North Lawndale, West Garfield Park and Wicker Park, among other neighborhoods. The series' police station is at 943 W. Maxwell St. on the Near West Side. You can see where the show filmed in 2014 with DNAinfo's guide.

The show's producer, Dick Wolf, said he likes filming in Chicago because "It's a real city with real people."

"The locations are authentic, and the talent pool is outstanding,” he told Shia Kapos of Crain's last year. “The city is a character unto itself, much like New York City in all of the 'Law & Order' branded series. Chicago has a unique look and we try to capture the beauty of the city on film.”

"Chicago P.D." estimated it would create 321 jobs, shoot for 176 days and spend $47 million in Chicago during season two production, according to state spokeswoman Lyndsey Walters.

Shows like Wolf's enjoy a 30 percent tax credit for money spent on Illinois goods and services. Last year, Betsy Steinberg of the state film office said "these two shows have become job creators all by themselves."
