

CHICAGO — Police officials suspect the fire that seriously injured a 4-year-old boy and also injured two firefighters in Irving Park Sunday was set on purpose.
According to a community alert, the fire broke out after someone set a fire inside garbage cans at 4316 North Drake and 4322 North Drake Avenue. The flames then spread to the coach house and severely injured the 4-year-old boy, police said.
The boy suffered smoke inhalation and burns over 75 percent of his body and was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital, fire officials said.
Two firefighters were also injured while fighting the blaze and were taken to Swedish Covenant for minor injuries, officials said.
