BUENA PARK — It's been six months since co-working space The Shift opened in Buena Park.

To celebrate, owner Nicole Vasquez is hosting an open house at the space, 4101 N. Broadway, May 16 and May 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Not only will co-working be free for everyone, but those who attend will be offered up to 25 percent discounts on memberships.

At noon Saturday, three local organizations — Bold Bee Consulting, Coffee & Conversation and Idea Lemon — will host a series of workshops dubbed "Know Your Skills and Your Voice: a fun and social learning hangout."

Local pet shop Curious Creatures, 4131 N. Broadway, will put on a "special show" at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Other groups like Buena Park Neighbors, Sarah's Circle and Uptown United will be in attendance with information on how to get involved. There will also be activities for kids, free tours of the space and an opportunity to buy the local book "Sweet Home Buena Park: A History of Our Unique Chicago Neighborhood."

Free snacks, coffee and tea will be served.
