Iconic 'Nuggets' From Former Golden Angel Sign Resurface at Lou Malnati's

NORTH CENTER — Lou Malnati's made good on a promise to preserve a slice of neighborhood history by salvaging the former Golden Angel's signage and incorporating it into the decor of the pizza chain's new North Center outpost.

A pair of "nuggets" from the former pancake house, which stood at 4340 N. Lincoln Ave. for decades, now grace a wall along the bar area of the new Lou's — the entire sign proving too large to accommodate. There's even an informational placard to boot, for those unfamiliar with the property's history.

The nuggets, which will light up at night, were left in a fairly "natural" state to preserve their vintage character, in case anyone is wondering why half the bulbs are missing.
