Cab Drivers Robbed at Knifepoint in Lincoln Square, West Ridge: Police

LINCOLN SQUARE — Police are searching for a man they believe to have robbed cab drivers at knifepoint in Lincoln Square and West Ridge this month.

In both cases, the suspect hailed a cab and then pulled a knife to rob the drivers upon reaching his destination.

The first incident took place in the 2800 block of West Ardmore Avenue at 6 a.m. on April 19. The second incident occurred in the 2400 block of West Eastwood Avenue at 9:25 p.m. on April 23.

Police were able to obtain a photo of the suspect, described as a black male, 18-25 years old, approximately 6 feet tall and 140 pounds.

He was first seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants and carrying a brown handbag/satchel. In the second incident, he was wearing a black baseball cap and a Chicago Bulls jacket.
