CHICAGO — Beauty is in the eye of the ... tenant?

A Craigslist ad put up Wednesday for a Humboldt Park apartment laid bare the dwelling's less-than-desirable qualities, a move anyone who has apartment hunted on Craiglist knows is rare.

The $895 three-bedroom is "super UGLY," mostly due to its large, multi-colored, ceramic tiles and "zero character," according to the ad.

"I just figured what is the point in wasting everybody's time it's better to be upfront and say it like it is!" property manager Cathy Mcdonagh said in a text. "I have got a lot of interest but I think people are more curious to see what an ugly apartment [it] is than they are interested in renting it!"

The apartment has a lot of great qualities, the ad said, like air conditioning, parking and a "big yard and nice neighbors."

The trade-off might be worth it for some aspiring interior designers.

"Maybe u can make something of it if u are creative !" the listing said.

The previous tenants were more utilitarian in their approach to the place, Mcdonagh said, and it's been empty about a week.

When asked if this was the ugliest apartment she's ever seen, property manager Mcdonagh responded:

"No I see ugly ones all the time."
