CHICAGO — Police are searching for two women they said stole teachers' wallets from inside a North Center school and then went on a spending spree with the teachers' cards.

On April 1, the women went to Audubon School at 3500 North Hoyne Avenue pretending to enroll a child at the school, police said in a statement.

After gaining access to two teachers' classrooms, the women took wallets and then used the stolen cards at a nearby Jewel Osco, 2940 N. Ashland Ave. in Lakeview, where they bought $145 worth of items, police said.

The women continued their shopping spree with the stolen cards at other businesses, police said.

The women were seen driving a newer model Ford explorer. One is described as black, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10 and weighing 200-220 pounds. She was wearing glasses and a blue baseball cap.

The other woman was described as black, with a medium complexion, and 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8. She was wearing white pants, a white shirt and a black sweater, police said.

Any one with information is asked to call police at 312-744-8263.
