Woman Killed By Blue Line Train Friday Identified

CHICAGO — The woman who died Friday after being struck by a Blue Line train has been identified as 56-year-old Lillian Kirkman, the Cook County Medical Examiner's office said.

Kirkman, of the 2700 block of South State Street, was pronounced at 7:45 a.m. Friday, according to the Medical Examiner's office.

Around 6:30 a.m., a northbound train at the Irving Park station brushed the woman who fell onto the platform, said Catherine Hosinski, a Chicago Transit Authority spokeswoman.

The woman was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in grave condition, said Juan Hernandez, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman.

Officials said the woman was pronounced dead at Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
