CHICAGO — An 8-year-old boy was shot Tuesday morning on the West Side, police said.
Around 10:46 a.m., family brought the boy to Mount Sinai Hospital after he was shot in his stomach. He was listed in good condition, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
The family told police the boy was shot in the 3700 block of West 13th Street, Cooper said.
Red tape surrounded the apartment building in the North Lawndale block Tuesday afternoon as neighbors gathered behind it. They said the boy was shot on the third floor of the red brick apartment building.
Neighbors said they believed the bullet came from the hallway outside the family's apartment.
