Wrigley Field's Video Board in Left Field Goes Up [PHOTOS]

WRIGLEYVILLE — With Opening Day just days away, crews are scrambling to get Wrigley Field ready for Sunday's nationally televised game, including the new video board in left field.

Wednesday morning, residents and tourists gawked and snapped photos as crews used several cranes to put together the video board, which is 42 feet by 95 feet.

The giant screen will up and running in time for the season opener versus the St. Louis Cardinals, Cubs officials pledged. A right field video board will be operational by the All-Star Break, officials said.

During an update on the progress Tuesday, officials said the Ernie Banks and Ron Santo statues will be in place by Sunday, but the Harry Caray tribute won't be. 

The bleachers won't be ready for the opener. Instead, the work-in-progress seats will be covered with huge photos of Ernie Banks, the Cubs all-time great who died in the off-season.
