ROSCOE VILLAGE — There's some dude out there whose biggest claim to fame at parties is that he was the first to drink a Half Acre beer.

And before him, there was the dude who was first to drink Goose Island. And so on and so on, back to the Mr. Neanderthal trendsetter.

So you missed the Daisy Cutter boat. Here's your chance to jump on board the Alarmist bandwagon before everyone else.

More than three years in the making, Gary Gulley's Alarmist Brewing (initially called Panic Brewing) is debuting it first beer, Pantsless Pale Ale, at Riverview Tavern Friday night.

Pints of Pantsless are on special for $5 and you can chat up Gulley himself and his wife Bridget while you quaff your brew.

The Reader's Philip Montoro nabbed a sample of Pantsless while interviewing Gulley for a profile on Alarmist and declared the stuff a winner: dry and clean on the palate, gently tart, with a finish "that leaves you ready to take another pull right away."

Taste for yourself, 7 p.m. Friday, Riverview Tavern, 1958 W. Roscoe St.
