$1 Million Lottery Ticket Sold In Mount Greenwood

MOUNT GREENWOOD — A $1 million lottery ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven store in Mount Greenwood.

The Illinois Lottery announced the three winning numbers in its St. Patrick’s Day Millionaire Raffle on Wednesday. One of the three $1 million tickets was sold at the store at 10301 S. Sawyer Ave.

The winning ticket number is 026300. The winner has yet to come forward to claim his or her prize, lottery spokesman Mike Lang said.

Other top prizes were sold at Beasley’s Gas ‘N Go just outside of St. Louis in Wood River (winning number 221374) and at the West Chicago BP in the western suburbs (winning number 273273).

Social media outlets throughout Mount Greenwood were buzzing on Thursday morning with the news. Several commenters said the winner was a neighborhood resident, though lottery officials have yet to officially identify the winner.

In all, 7,122 people won prizes in the St. Patrick’s Day Millionaire Raffle. A $100,000 winning ticket (number 291874) was sold at Banner Liquor, 10558 S. Ewing St. on the East Side.

St. Patrick’s Day Millionaire Raffle tickets cost $20 and winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes.

Lottery players who bought a ticket in the raffle can can check the winning numbers by visiting illinoislottery.com or checking their tickets at any of the lottery’s 8,100 retailers across the state.
