SOUTH SHORE — A 17-year-old boy was shot and killed Thursday evening, police said.
The teen was sitting with a friend in the back of a building near 70th Street and Stony Island Avenue around 6:25 p.m., said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.
The boy began walking through the alley when shots rang out and he was hit in his right thigh and lower back, Greer said
He was taken to Northwestern Hospital and was pronounced dead at 8:33 p.m., the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.
He was as Leonard Anderson of the 7200 block of South Bennett Avenue. Family said he's a rapper who goes by L'A Capone.
