CHICAGO — Though our celebration of 70 degree temperatures was short-lived, we aren't emotionally prepared for any more snow. So, when we heard the East Coast was preparing for a few inches of snow, we had to make sure we were safe.

So, are we? Not quite..

According to the National Weather Service, there's a 20 percent chance of snow mixing with rain Thursday night.

Wednesday will be cloudy with a high near 46 degrees and by Wednesday night temps could fall to 34 degrees. Thursday will also be cloudy and in the 40s with a chance of precipitation after 10 p.m., the National Weather Service said.

So, you're saying there's a chance?

"Not significantly," said Amy Seeley, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

Snowfall in March isn't rare and Chicago has seen snow as late as May. But for now, we shouldn't worry, Seeley said: if it does snow there won't be much and it'll probably melt right away.

"It's just spring. We often get these periods of transition around spring," Seeley said.
