47 Degrees in March Video Perfectly Sums Up Chicago's Reaction to Spring

By Patty Wetli | March 13, 2015 9:37am

LINCOLN SQUARE — It's been a driving-with-the-windows-rolled-down kind of week.

Heck, I walked to the gym yesterday in capri leggings, with BARE SHINS. Fifty degrees, after the winter we've been through, feels like a flippin' heatwave.

Same temperatures in October would have us reaching for boots and scarves.

Instead of writing a thousand words on this conundrum, we turn things over to Shaun O'Connor, aka Shaun So Stupid, who only needs a minute to perfectly, and hilariously, spoof the phenomenon in "47º in March, in New Hampshire." The video is the Internet's latest viral sensation, nabbing more than 3 million views in just two days.

O'Connor has been overwhelmed by the video's success, he admitted via Facebook.

"You know that feeling that you get when you realize more people have seen the video of you dancing in your car with your shirt off to Madonna than live in the entire state of North Dakota?" he said. "I just had that feeling."
