NORTH LAWNDALE — Two candidates will head to a runoff election on April 7 after 10 contenders split the 24th Ward vote Tuesday.

Michael Scott, Jr. was the frontrunner Tuesday, securing 30 percent of the vote in the ward, which includes parts of North Lawndale, West Garfield Park and South Austin. He will run against second time candidate Vetress Boyce, who received 17 percent of the vote in the crowded race, where incumbent Michael Chandler did not run for reelection.
